Futuristic and harmonious, the 18 Energy Trees enhances the magnificence of the Sustainability Pavilion at Expo Dubai 2020 which will be host in the Emirati metropolis starting from October 2020. The crown's rotating mechanism, outcome of Lanaro's design development, enable the solar energy harvesting by tracking the sun position for the maximum power generation from the PV plant. The rotating gear, acted by 2 motorgroup with reduction ratio of 1/10824, works as structural connection element between the trunk and the arms which are made out of reinforced fiberglass.
The assembled structure is managed by Lanaro's solar tracking software which has been developed along with the mechanics, which ensure the rotating capabilities even if a motor fail thanks to a bypass system.
